Home to Brandon Tourism and Ducks Unlimited Canada, the Riverbank Discovery Centre is located in the heart of the Assiniboine River Corridor. The Tourism Centre is open year-round, and contains information on the City of Brandon, the southwestern Manitoba region as well as Canada and the United States. The Centre also offers souvenirs, picnic areas and interpretive information on the natural beauty of the area. The Riverbank Discovery Centre provides a starting point for the extensive Assiniboine River Trail System and can lead you on a self-guided tour of the Interpretive Ponds that area adjacent to the facility.
Situated just east of 18th Street North along the Assiniboine River. Access the Centre from 18th Street N. by turning east on Kirkcaldy Drive at the traffic lights at the Corral Centre. Proceed east to the next set of light (Conservation Drive).

Eleanor Kidd Gardens
Adjacent to Eleanor Kidd Park, 18th Street North., 18th Street North
The Gardens offer a beautiful setting for everyone to relax and enjoy the scenic Assiniboine River Corridor. Some features of the Gardens are a Performance Plaza that has a small stage and seating area for community arts performances, a Fountain Plaza featuring a life-sized bronze sculpture of a doe and two fawns by local artist Peter Sawatzky, and numerous varieties of trees, shrubs, annuals and perennials.

Assiniboine Riverbank Trail System
The Assiniboine River Corridor stretches 17 km (10.5 miles) throughout the heart of the City of Brandon. The corridor includes a network of parks and pathways linked by the Red Willow Pedestrian Bridge. The trail system ranges from natural river bottom forest to paved, lit walkways and links sports venues to downtown shopping and dining. Enjoy an afternoon stroll along the riverbank or a picnic in one of the many parks or shelters along the way.

Just a short drive south of Brandon along Highway #10, east 3 km along the Beresford gravel road and then south to the beautiful Brandon Hills.

The hills are a haven for recreation and wildlife with over 17 km of trails suitable for cross-country skiing. There are three individual loops ranging in distance from 2.5 km to 7.5 km. There is a warm-up hut and cook shelter available.

The Commonwealth Air Training Plan Museum

Canada’s only Air Museum dedicated solely to those who trained and fought for the British Commonwealth during the 1939-1945 War. Explore this World War II Royal Canadian Air Force Training Base showcasing aircrafts, artifacts and memorabilia. A National Historic Site, this museum is one of only six designated Special Theme Museums in Manitoba.

Canada's largest reptile exhibit, amazing reptiles to observe in amazingly close and intimate settings. Over 300 exhibits including rattlesnakes, constrictors, alligators, monitors, turtles and much more. Hours: Monday thru Saturday, 10:00 am - 8:00 pm. Sundays and most Holidays, noon - 5:00 pm.

Carousels and Dolls Doll Museum

Canada's National Artillery Museum, a Manitoba Star Attraction and one of the largest military museums in the country. The museum features four major indoor galleries in a 24,000 square foot building. The National Artillery Gallery features 28 guns and vehicles. The Weapons Vault displays over 90 pistols and small arms. The CF Heritage Gallery tells the military history of Canada since the Vikings. The Gregg Gallery features rotating exhibits from our fleet of over 50 historic military vehicles. The Gun Park is an outdoor display of 28 guns and vehicles that includes a picnic area and a geo-cache. Wheelchair accessible. Hours: All year Mon - Fri, 9 am - 5 pm; Victoria Day to Labour Day weekend Sat, Sun, and holiday Mon 1 pm - 5 pm. Group tours by appointment.
